"Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." (Ephesians 5:14)
We begin with placing ourselves in the light of Christ.
At Mission Church on Sunday, we began this season of awakening. We began this time of giving God no rest, day and night, until He makes Jerusalem His splendor. And Declan lingered in the light of Christ as He prayed for his father to awake. And Dee turned her face towards the Son and saw the path He was calling her to. She saw that she needed to give glory to God for what He had done in her life at the Love Feast. And she did just a couple hours ago. Nervous as all get out. But she proclaimed and praised Him as she read and prayed from Psalm 7. And Nicky danced as Danmike sung The Dawn, "We are watching, waiting, faithful to persevere. We believe you Jesus, the kingdom of heaven is near." We all leapt forward and we sang with joy, "Wake up you sleepers! Stand up you dreamers! Jesus redeemer is shining on you. "
It was a turning. We sensed it. And as we pivot with the Kingdom in our sight, we begin to pray for Christ to awaken us from our duty and obligation to the joy and fullness of His light.
And the turn continued on Monday as Will's and Danmike's Kingdom scheming unfolded with Corporate Worship and Prayer. Over microbrew, they dreamed about 24-7 worship. They planned out 24-7 worship and it has become a reality 7 days a week from 8-10p. Sarah Lamb and Friends began Corporate Worship on Sunday night 8-10, it continued on to Monday night with Will and Josh Crooks leading us in worship and prayer.
From the moment we started Monday night, the Lord's presence was heavy on the Tabernacle. We sang words of love to Jesus. We heard the Father's heart for us clearly spoken. Mostly guys, the voices had a deep and desperate timbre. It wasn't just my slowly healing throat. But something was reaching for Jesus. The same thing out of each person there.
The pivot continued on Tuesday with Healing Prayer. Shifting now to a study portion from 7-8p and a lab portion where participants pray and get prayer, the Lord ministered through His people as folks were baptized in the Holy Spirit as well as were recipients of inner healing prayer. All the while Caleb, Jeremy and Derek on electric guitar were rocking it out in the Pavilion.
Since Sunday's launch at 10a, we have had eighty people already pray in the prayer room passing the baton of prayer through the hours of the night and the gleam of the day. And we've been resting in the light of Christ. And we've been calling on Jesus to awaken the sleepers, each of us. We're calling on him to break the chains of slumber. And we're watching, waiting, faithful to persevere. We believe you, Jesus, the Kingdom of Heaven is near.
