will be brought in to be repaired this week. promise. i'm bringing it to Pete's Camera Repair, next to the fishmonger on plainfield and leonard. this afternoon.
because there is so much beauty, so very many moments that need to be saved and shared, and these words of mine need pictures.
but until Pete works his magic, here are some from our dear brooke, whose camera is not broken, and whose photographs are stunning and simple and true. i just take pictures of my feet, but she sees people in a way that captivates me.
these photographs are from yesterday at the stockbridge mission, our little church. after the morning service we had a potluck, which made me feel like we're officially a church, especially when the abbot made and brought a jello salad with shredded (organic) carrots suspended near the bottom. just like grandma made in kansas, he said. and out of respect for grandma mcglynn and her repetoire of jello salad creations, i just shook my head and looked the other way when it was all bea and ezra put on their plates, minus the carrot part. they loved it.
and we loved sharing a meal with this family that is motley and honest and hungry. we loved it.
